original and intact antique american 19th century interior residential coal or wood burning fireplace summer cover designed and fabricated by or for henry dibblee & co., chicago, il. the single-sided cover is highly ornamented with a centrally located detachable grille to accommodate a stove pipe. the black enameled cast iron summer cover was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. the black enameled finish is mostly uniform throughout. Item measures 27 1/8"h x 19 3/4"w x 7/8"d.
