original 19th century ornamental wrought iron window guard with a nicely worn and weathered black enameled finish. the fanciful window guard was designed and fabricated by f.p. smith wire and ironworks, chicago, ills. the 1880s window grille was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition.
